Last week was the week that Emily finally admited she can't do everything! I finally gave up my freelance work and as of Thursday I am now a full time shop-keep (artist, maker and events organiser...cough....I honestly can't just do one thing!) which means much more regular hours and more, fabulous handmade goodies for you, more fantastic workshops and events and generally just more of my attention, which I assure you is a good thing!

Anyway. This week we have had in some fabulous new sweaters from Laura Laura, some cute critters from Debbie Greenaway and some absolutely stunning jewellery made from vintage suspenders and sterling silver by Nicola Reed....

Next week lots more new stock should be arriving as well as the much anticipate badge making workshop with Nikki McWilliams on Tuesday and the Jean-etic Engineering workshop with Ellen Munro on Wednesday. (email for info and booking details – thespiderandtheflyedinburgh@gmail.com)

There's gonna be a beautiful new autumnal window display, with the help of some props from Kirsty of Wooden Tree.

Revised opening hours.

The Spider and The Fly Shop has had to revise opening hours over the next couple of weeks. I hope it doesn't cause any inconvenience.

Wednesday 15th September: Closed
Thursday 16th September: Open 2-6pm
Friday 17th September: Open 2-6pm
Saturday 18th September: Open
Sunday 19th September: Closed

Monday 20th September: Open 10 - 6
Tuesday 21st September: Closed
Wednesday 22nd September: Open 10 - 6 (plus workshops 'till 9)
Thursday 23rd September: Open 10 -6
Friday 24th September: Open 10 - 6
Saturday 25th September: Open 10 - 6
Sunday 26th September: Closed

After this we should be open as normal!

In homage to the humble Teacake, Nikki McWilliams presents a collection of drawings and sculpture in tribute to the humble tea-time treat, a family business and scottish culture.

Opening night 7th September 6.30 - 8.30pm....you coming?

Cut-Click mail art exhibition

There's still time to see the Cut-Click mail art exhibition before it gets sent to Cardiff. There is such a variety of work, the three of us who put it up are still finding pieces we've not seen before! The exhibition runs until 6pm on 7th August.
